Meet Chad.

Originally from Newfoundland, I grew up constantly playing different sports and discovered my competitive edge at an early age. I played basketball at St. Francis Xavier University and upon graduating, moved to Collingwood and began training local athletes. I have built a reputation for helping others excel as athletes and as individuals, and have worked with many different individuals, including several professional and olympic level athletes.

I have a passion for athletic development and understand both ends of the spectrum. As I have developed,  I have learned how to motivate and push high-caliber athletes as well as those looking to get in shape. I embrace traditional methods, while continuing to create and implement new ways to challenge and improve my athletes.  I understand it is not ‘one size fits all’, and careful thought and evaluation must go into each program that is designed.  Any individual with goals must receive a program which reflects these goals.

I have worked in the strength and conditioning world for several years and have obtained my Masters of Science in Psychology. Motivating others is something I take great pride in and I am always focussed on helping my clients achieve exactly what they are looking for. I believe in leading by example, consistently expanding my own potential and redefining myself.  As someone in the business of helping others, I must lead by example.

Meet Devon.

I grew up between Waterloo and Collingwood competing in multiple sports with a focus on alpine ski racing. I moved to Colorado after high school for two years to focus on pursuing skiing then continued to race NCAA at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah and received my Bachelors Degree in Finance. During my time ski racing in order to enhance my on snow performance I spent multiple hours in the gym working and learning from many knowledgeable trainers.

Following my ski career I have continued my passions for exercise and training through various ways with my latest focus on road cycling. Changing focus from competing in an Strength sport to an Endurance sport has expanded my views on what it means to be well-rounded and the importance of training smarter and not harder.

Meet Adam.

Adam graduated from Algonquin College with a diploma in Outdoor Adventure in 2010. During his time at Algonquin he specialized in rock climbing, snowboarding, high angle rescue, white water rescue (level 3 technician) and wilderness first responder. After earning his diploma, he worked in the rock climbing and adventure sport industry for several years. Adam became concerned with how many people were repeatedly getting injured in this industry and wanted to understand how to better help those individuals minimize injury and return stronger.

Adam decided the best method was to continue his education in the field of injury care. He obtained his Bachelor’s of Health Science in Athletic Therapy from Sheridan College in 2019, as well as becoming a first responder. To further his knowledge and incorporate new techniques and skills, he became certified in Massage Therapy from Ontario College of Healthy & Technology.

During his externships with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Ryerson Rams and Wishbone Athletics, Adam was able to work both on field with high-level athletes and in a clinical setting with the general public. As a certified Athletic Therapist, Adam has acted as head therapist for Mohawk College’s soccer, rugby and volleyball teams, where he also provided on-field emergency care for fractures, dislocations, and concussions.

Adam’s approach to treatment is to use manual techniques, joint mobilizations, fascial release, strengthening, conditioning and performance taping techniques. Adam’s highest priority is providing patients with the appropriate treatment and tools necessary to reduce pain and increase functional movement.

Meet Ty.

Ty has been coaching for 13 years now and specializes in strength training, with his unique holistic approach.  His passion for physical training began in his late teens, eventually going on to study physical theatre and clown, being offered an exclusive invitation to study at the world's renown physical theatre school in France. Ultimately, he chose not to move and would end up pursuing training as a career where he could help others experience the expressiveness of movement.

His holistic strength training approach has been developed over the years, having studied many areas of health and performance.  Ty is one of the very few Canadians to hold a Westside Barbell certification, commonly known as the strongest gym on the planet, training elite level athletes and world-record holders. Although he does enjoy training athletes, you'll often see him working with all ages and fitness levels because strength has many layers, far beyond lifting heavy weights. The integral belief that surrounds his programming is that everything is connected in some capacity and therefore affecting one area can create a ripple effect across another.

When Ty is not coaching, he enjoys time with his family, getting outside, studying financial markets, reading, eating dark chocolate, sipping excellent coffee or enjoying a near-beer.
